Biotech startup Ahammune Biosciences has secured $5 million in Series A funding round led by pi Ventures. Capital2B, Colossa Ventures, Bipin Agarwal, Unicornus Maximus LLP, and existing investors Ideaspring Capital, Kotak Alternate Assets, Legacy Assets LLP and IAN also participated in this funding round.
The new investment will be used to grow the patent portfolio, carry out Phase II human clinical studies for vitiligo treatment candidates, and further Ahammune’s research and development efforts regarding additional immune-mediated skin illnesses.

Prior to this, the Pune-based business had raised almost $3 million from both its current investors and other parties.
Ahammune claims that the goal of its inaugural program is to create a novel vitiligo treatment candidate. It states that its tiny molecule therapeutic candidate has a first-in-class mode of action, is not likely to cause systemic immunosuppression, and can both enhance the activity of skin’s color-producing cells and induce repigmentation.
